Ripiendo Choir concert – ‘A Summer Serenade’

09 June 2026 13:03

Join Ripiendo Choir for a ‘A Summer Serenade’ on 5th July 2026 at 6pm in St Barnabas' church.

Come and enjoy a wonderful concert with a programme of works spanning six centuries, dedicated to the twilight hour. There will be a short recital in the church reflecting dusk and nightfall that includes the canticle of peaceful release, Nunc dimittis, by the young British composer, Amy Summers.

There will be an interlude of plainsong from Compline, the final Christian liturgy of the waking day.

Then the choir and audience will move outside into nature, and sing English pastoral madrigals, including Vautor’s homage to the ultimate embodiment of dusk, Sweet Suffolk Owl.

You are invited to bring a picnic to enjoy alongside members of the choir, as the evening lingers over the Surrey Hills.
